About the Role
Agentic AI is transforming how clinical intelligence is delivered at scale in healthcare. Cohere Health is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - AI to build intelligent agents and applications serving health insurance plans covering over 15 million people.
What you'll do
- Participate in the development, evaluation, and deployment of Cohere’s AI-powered agents and applications
- Design data and retrieval architectures that give AI agents the right context across diverse healthcare sources
- Design, review, and own high-quality agentic code — leading releases, production deployments and on-call support
- Work closely with ML/DS teams, product teams, and architects to ensure systems meet business needs
- Ensure all agentic components comply with healthcare security and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Contribute to sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives within the engineering team
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience in the software development lifecycle with agent frameworks and language models
- Expertise in one or more modern development languages
- Experience with AI architectures, multi-agent systems, RAG, and evaluation frameworks
