About the Role
Standard Chartered is hiring a Senior ML Engineer in Chennai (Hybrid) to design, build, and deploy advanced machine learning and Generative AI solutions including LLMs for the bank's AI/ML Centre of Excellence.
This role drives GenAI and LLM initiatives with Databricks and Azure DevOps while embedding Responsible AI practices across enterprise banking AI delivery.
What you'll do
- Design and deliver advanced ML and Generative AI solutions for banking.
- Designing and building GenAI and LLM solutions for business problems
- Developing ML models using TensorFlow and PyTorch
- Building and optimizing ML pipelines on Databricks
- Implementing Azure DevOps for MLOps and model deployment workflows
- Applying Responsible AI practices and model governance frameworks
- Collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Monitoring model performance and implementing drift detection
- Contributing to AI/ML Centre of Excellence initiatives and best practices
- Ensuring compliance with banking regulations and model risk requirements
What we're looking for
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- 8–12 years relevant hands-on experience in ML engineering
- Strong Python programming with TensorFlow and PyTorch expertise
- GenAI and LLM development and deployment experience
