Enterprise GenAI and NLP are transforming how global energy companies manage knowledge and automate workflows. Vestas is hiring a Senior ML Engineer (NLP/GenAI) in Chennai to lead the design, build, and deployment of production-grade ML and GenAI solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead design and implementation of scalable ML systems including data pipelines, training workflows, and real-time inference
- Develop and deploy generative AI applications including RAG pipelines, copilots, and intelligent assistants
- Build and integrate AI solutions into production using APIs, microservices, and model-serving frameworks
- Develop predictive models, optimization algorithms, and deep learning systems
- Apply statistical methods, feature engineering, and experimentation frameworks
- Implement LLM-based applications including prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector search
- Contribute to agent-based workflows and orchestration frameworks
- Establish engineering standards and system design principles
- Mentor junior ML engineers and collaborate with product and business stakeholders
- Enable AI-driven decision-making across planning and execution
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of experience (5–8 years core ML/NLP/GenAI)
- Strong programming expertise in Python
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow
- Experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases
