About the Role
Citi is hiring a Senior LLM & Agentic AI Engineer (Assistant Vice President) in Chennai to design, build, and scale next-generation AI-powered digital experiences. You will work on Generative AI, Agentic AI, Conversational AI, and Machine Learning solutions that enhance customer engagement at global scale.
This hands-on senior role requires strong software engineering with deep GenAI and LLM production experience.
What you'll do
- Design and build GenAI, Agentic AI, and Conversational AI solutions
- Develop multi-agent systems using LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar
- Implement advanced prompt engineering, evaluation, and guardrails
- Design and optimize RAG architectures and vector database integrations
- Improve retrieval accuracy and grounding of AI-generated content
- Build scalable backend services and REST APIs in Java and/or Python
- Develop cloud-native microservices integrating AI into customer applications
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and business stakeholders
- Monitor model performance, latency, and LLM inference costs
- Implement AI governance and responsible AI practices
What we're looking for
- 8-11 years software engineering experience
- 2+ years building GenAI or LLM-powered applications
- GPT, Claude, Gemini or similar LLMs
- LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AI agent frameworks
