About the Role
Banks are deploying Generative AI and NLP at scale for text analytics, predictive modeling, and business intelligence. IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring a Senior Data Scientist for AI Labs.
What you'll do
- Lead Generative AI projects within cross-functional teams, driving innovation and business impact
- Develop and deploy predictive models using Python or R and associated libraries
- Apply advanced ML algorithms and statistical modeling techniques
- Work with NLP frameworks and transformer models (BERT, GPT)
- Implement text analytics techniques including topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and text classification
- Utilize SQL and NoSQL databases for data extraction and management
- Create data visualizations using Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Tableau
- Build, validate, and deploy predictive models for unstructured text datasets
- Collaborate with BI analysts and engineers to prototype and present solutions
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Data Science
- Postgraduate Degree preferred in Data Science, ML, AI, or Applied Statistics
- 5-8 years relevant experience in data science with focus on NLP, ML, and model deployment
- Proficiency in Python or R and associated data science libraries
Skills & Technologies
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Data Science
Postgraduate Degree preferred in Data Science, ML, AI, or Applied Statistics
5-8 years relevant experience in data science with focus on NLP, ML, and model deployment
Proficiency in Python or R and associated data science libraries
Strong understanding of NLP techniques and transformer-based models
Experience with big data tools and handling large unstructured datasets
Ability to translate business problems into data science solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills
