About the Role
Pharmaceutical companies are investing heavily in Generative AI and Agentic AI to transform how they deliver insights and accelerate digital innovation. Takeda is hiring a Senior AI Engineer at its Innovation Capability Center in Bengaluru to design, build, and operationalize enterprise-grade GenAI solutions across the business.
What you'll do
- Design and implement end-to-end LLM-powered GenAI and Agentic AI solutions
- Translate business problems into scalable AI architectures spanning data, retrieval, and application layers
- Build and optimize retrieval pipelines using vector databases, hybrid search, and reranking
- Develop agent orchestration patterns, tool integrations, and context-management strategies
- Evaluate and select foundation models; implement fine-tuning and prompt optimization
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams for scalable, secure cloud deployment
- Implement monitoring for quality, hallucinations, drift, latency, and reliability
- Design scalable data pipelines, backend services, and APIs for AI-driven applications
- Adhere to privacy, security, and ethical AI standards across data, prompts, and outputs
- Continuously evaluate emerging Gen-AI technologies and guide adoption strategy
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI engineering
- Hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI or Agentic AI solutions in enterprise environments
- Proven experience with Databricks and AWS, with CI/CD automation through GitHub Actions
Skills & Technologies
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
6+ years of relevant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI engineering
Hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI or Agentic AI solutions in enterprise environments
Proven experience with Databricks and AWS, with CI/CD automation through GitHub Actions
Strong proficiency in Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, LangChain, Langflow
Experience delivering production-grade AI applications end-to-end
Deep understanding of NLP, transformers, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architecture
Understanding of Responsible AI, privacy, security, and governance in regulated environments
