ABB is hiring a Principal AI Engineer in Bangalore to design, develop, and deploy scalable AI platforms within its Process Automation – Automation Digital organization.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end Generative AI applications with LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, Agentic AI workflows, AI APIs, and cloud-native enterprise solutions
- Develop scalable AI platforms using Python, .NET, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native technologies
- Implement prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, AI governance, model monitoring, and responsible AI practices
- Collaborate with Product Management, AI/ML Engineering, Data Science, Platform Engineering, UX Design, and Software Engineering teams
- Define solution architectures and translate product requirements into technical implementations
- Drive engineering excellence using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
- Contribute to architecture standards and mentor engineering teams
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and improve software quality, developer productivity, and operational efficiency
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, IT, or related technical discipline
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in AI/ML/LLM-based applications
- Strong programming in Python and .NET
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, Prompt Engineering, LangChain, n8n, MCP, A2A, and related AI frameworks
Skills & Technologies
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, IT, or related technical discipline
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in AI/ML/LLM-based applications
Strong programming in Python and .NET
Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, Prompt Engineering, LangChain, n8n, MCP, A2A, and related AI frameworks
Cloud-native application design using Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
Understanding of AI application architecture, evaluation methodologies, and Agentic AI patterns
Experience integrating AI into user-facing applications and frontend technologies
Strong software architecture, SDLC, design patterns, cloud platforms, and responsible AI knowledge
