About the Role
Cekura (YC F24) is hiring a Member of Technical Staff in Bengaluru to build simulation engines, evaluation systems, and observability pipelines for self-improving conversational agents. Experience level is listed as any (new grads OK); the role is full-time engineering/full-stack and in-person in Bangalore (also SF culture context).
You will work at the boundary of systems and AI—real-time voice infrastructure, LLM-as-judge evals, distributed systems, telephony/audio analysis, and end-to-end product ownership. The team is explicit about intense pace (long hours including most weekends) and that this is not a narrow 9-to-5 scope.
What you'll do
- Build testing/simulation engines for thousands of realistic conversations across voice/chat/phone
- Push agent evaluation with LLM-powered evaluators, metrics, and self-improvement loops
- Do applied audio/speech research beyond transcripts (noise, emotion/tone, interruptions, speaking rate)
- Own real-time voice infrastructure (SIP, WebRTC, WebSockets, STT/TTS; providers like Twilio, Vapi, Retell, LiveKit, Pipecat)
- Ship end-to-end (backend, infra, evals, customer-facing product)
- Shape how the team builds—architecture, standards, technical taste
What we're looking for
- Minimum

- Experience with at least one of: distributed systems, real-time infrastructure, or LLM-based products
