About the Role
Mastercard's Business & Market Insights group is hiring a Manager AI Engineering in Pune to lead Gen AI engineers architecting next-generation LLM, agentic, and multimodal AI systems for the Operational Intelligence Program.
The role sets engineering standards for agentic orchestration, RAG, LLMOps, and responsible AI at enterprise scale.
What you'll do
- Architect and lead multi-agent AI systems enabling autonomous reasoning and tool use
- Design multimodal generative AI pipelines using transformer architectures
- Build production-grade RAG and Graph-RAG integrating Pinecone, pgvector, Neo4j, Neptune
- Lead LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and model alignment strategies
- Establish robust LLMOps and MLOps pipelines on Databricks using MLflow
- Develop high-performance Python backend services for LLM inference orchestration
- Engineer state, memory, and context management for agent reasoning
- Implement Responsible AI and AI governance practices
- Apply traditional ML alongside LLMs for hybrid interpretable decision systems
- Research and productionize advancements in generative modeling and agentic AI
What we're looking for
- Master's or Bachelor's in Computer Science, AI/ML, or Engineering with production Gen AI leadership experience
- Expert experience designing, building, and deploying LLM applications and agentic systems
- Deep proficiency with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Hugging Face, LangChain/LangGraph
- Strong Gen AI patterns: prompt engineering, tool calling, vector embeddings, agent memory
Skills & Technologies
Required
Master's or Bachelor's in Computer Science, AI/ML, or Engineering with production Gen AI leadership experience
Expert experience designing, building, and deploying LLM applications and agentic systems
Deep proficiency with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Hugging Face, LangChain/LangGraph
Strong Gen AI patterns: prompt engineering, tool calling, vector embeddings, agent memory
Applied ML fundamentals: predictive modeling, deep learning (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
Excellent Python engineering: async programming, FastAPI, inference microservices; SQL required
Cloud AI infrastructure: AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or GCP Vertex AI
MLOps/LLMOps tooling: MLflow, Weights & Biases
