About the Role
Morgan Stanley is hiring a Vice President for Machine Learning & Workplace Analytics within Wealth Management Administration in Mumbai to build end-to-end ML solutions and Gen AI use cases across WM business lines.
The role is a player-coach position reporting to the Head of Analytics & Data Mumbai with 10–14 years overall experience.
What you'll do
- Design and develop end-to-end ML solutions addressing WM business opportunities
- Develop and experiment with state-of-the-art algorithms
- Partner with model risk stakeholders to validate models and meet governance expectations
- Deploy ML models in production with MLOps team and monitor performance
- Plan and conduct A/B tests to quantify incremental impact
- Build Gen AI use cases leveraging LLMs across WM business verticals
- Build partnerships with business, Risk, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders
- Communicate model performance, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Manage and coach associates
What we're looking for
- Master's or PhD (preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or quantitative field
- Minimum 5 years professional ML experience (10–14 years overall), preferably in financial services
- Breadth in ML algorithms: classification, regression, recommender systems, clustering, deep learning
- Proficiency in applied ML research with commercial applications
Skills & Technologies
Required
Master's or PhD (preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or quantitative field
Minimum 5 years professional ML experience (10–14 years overall), preferably in financial services
Breadth in ML algorithms: classification, regression, recommender systems, clustering, deep learning
Proficiency in applied ML research with commercial applications
Proficiency in Python, C++, or related programming languages
2+ years client-facing experience preferred
Cloud or Big Data: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Hadoop
Deep Learning frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow — plus
