About the Role
BNP Paribas Fortis Tribe Artificial Intelligence is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer in Mumbai to industrialize AI solutions—ensuring reliability, scalability, and technical best practices. You will bridge Data Scientists and IT Production, translating business needs into production-ready ML pipelines while collaborating with Brussels-based teams on data sourcing, obsolescence management, and secure Python environments.
The tribe of approximately 90 experts develops virtual assistants, employee efficiency tools, and process automation for banking customers.
What you'll do
- Design, maintain, and optimize data sourcing pipelines using ETL, CFT, Denodo, and Airflow
- Ensure seamless integration of new data sources while adhering to data governance
- Maintain Python environments by auditing dependencies and upgrading obsolete libraries
- Conduct security scans and patch vulnerabilities in pipelines, APIs, and dependencies
- Implement secure coding practices and automate compliance checks in CI/CD
- Support CI/CD for containerized ML models (Docker/Kubernetes) with versioning and rollback
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents in QA/Production
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and PROD IT on production-ready architectures
- Promote software engineering best practices within the squad
- Propose innovative solutions to optimize workflows and reduce time-to-market
What we're looking for
- Minimum 6 years of experience with Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 4+ years professional Python programming (OOP, decorators, code quality, security, performance)
- Python environment building: uv, pip, mamba, micromamba
- MLOps, model versioning, and deployment
