About the Role
Kensho, S&P Global's hub for AI innovation, is building production-grade GenAI and machine learning systems that power essential intelligence for global markets. The team is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to develop scalable, reliable, and transparent ML solutions grounded in trusted S&P datasets.
This mid-to-senior role focuses on retrieval-driven AI agents, LLM orchestration, and the full ML lifecycle—from problem framing to production monitoring.
What you'll do
- Develop, refine, and deploy ML systems that solve complex business problems
- Design retrieval-driven AI agents that fetch, validate, and structure data from S&P datasets
- Ground LLM outputs in trusted S&P data
- Identify and resolve performance gaps in online and offline settings
- Work with proprietary structured and unstructured datasets
- Optimize and scale ML systems for high demand and reliable production behavior
- Proactively reduce technical debt by improving reliability and maintainability
- Scope, plan, and execute ML initiatives across Kensho products
- Drive the ML lifecycle from problem framing through deployment and monitoring
- Address performance, latency, memory usage, and feature consistency in LLM-based agents
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years hands-on experience in ML, NLP, and information retrieval
- Experience designing, shipping, and maintaining production systems
- Strong Python proficiency and SQL database skills
