About the Role
Alation is hiring a DCX Agentic AI Engineer in Chennai to spearhead the engineering behind next-generation enablement infrastructure within Digital Customer Experience. This hands-on role owns agentic workflows, retrieval systems, and content personalization at scale.

What you'll do
- Design and ship agentic workflows end-to-end with surrounding tooling
- Build evaluation loops that catch failures before production
- Support retrieval infrastructure end-to-end — indexing, relevance tuning, quality diagnosis
- Integrate and reason about MCP servers and APIs in agent-based systems
- Build systems making human review of AI-generated content efficient
- Partner with PM, PMM, Support, and field teams throughout the build
- Apply agentic skillset across drift detection, content pipelines, and personalization
What we're looking for
- 3-5 years relevant software engineering with agentic AI, RAG pipelines, or retrieval-augmented applications
- Systems-first mindset for modular AI agents scaling across disparate data sources
- Experience mapping complex end-to-end agentic workflows and mitigating failure modes
- Experience with search/retrieval infrastructure — indexing, ranking, or relevance tuning
Skills & Technologies
Required
3-5 years relevant software engineering with agentic AI, RAG pipelines, or retrieval-augmented applications
Systems-first mindset for modular AI agents scaling across disparate data sources
Experience mapping complex end-to-end agentic workflows and mitigating failure modes
Experience with search/retrieval infrastructure — indexing, ranking, or relevance tuning
Familiarity with API integration and/or MCP server integration in agent-based systems
Comfort working cross-functionally with non-engineering stakeholders
Strong judgment on when AI output needs human review vs. autonomous shipping
