About the Role
Amazon Business delivers comprehensive procurement solutions for business customers of all sizes. The AB Operations team owns end-to-end customer experience from checkout to final mile delivery. Amazon is hiring a Data Scientist II in Hyderabad to design and implement scalable, reliable approaches to support and automate decision-making across the business.
What you'll do
- Apply data science techniques combined with subject matter expertise to solve difficult business problems
- Proactively identify business opportunities and provide solutions to automate and optimize products
- Dive deep into data to identify defects or inefficiencies impacting customers or business
- Acquire data by building necessary SQL/ETL queries or scripts
- Analyze data for trends and input validity through distribution analysis and anomaly investigation
- Build models using statistical, mathematical, econometric, network, NLP, ML, genetic algorithms, and neural networks
- Validate models against alternative approaches and business-defined KPIs
- Implement models complying with computational demands, accuracy, and reliability of ETL processes
- Enable product engineering teams to consume models through customer-facing services
- Inspect key business metrics when analytics points to gaps or opportunities
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years data querying (SQL), scripting (Python), or statistical software (R, SAS, Matlab)
- 3+ years machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques
- 1+ years guiding and coaching a group of researchers
