About the Role
Citi is hiring an Assistant Vice President Data Science and Gen AI (Specialized Analytics Sr Anlst) to design, develop, and deploy generative models for Fraud Operations and banking automations. Citi is a global financial institution with approximately 219,000 dedicated people worldwide.
This role requires 8+ years of experience in machine learning and deep learning with a focus on generative AI solution design and development.
What you'll do
- You will lead generative AI solution design and deployment for banking operations.
- Design, develop, and deploy generative models for Fraud Operations applications
- Customize and fine-tune existing RAG frameworks or design new RAG solutions
- Design and develop POC and full-scale automations including Conversational AI and Multi Agent Systems
- Develop and deploy ML/DL based models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business requirements
- Conduct research to advance generative modeling; stay current with latest advancements
- Optimize and fine-tune models for performance, scalability, and robustness
- Perform data analysis and preprocessing for model training
- Implement and maintain AI pipelines and infrastructure
- Mentor junior team members; write comprehensive documentation
- Apply MRM and Fair Lending guidelines for LLM based solutions
What we're looking for
- 8+ years in machine learning and deep learning with generative AI focus
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
- Strong background in Prompt Engineering, agentic AI/AI Agents, API/MCPs for large-scale banking automations
- Experience with NLP and NLG
Skills & Technologies
Required
8+ years in machine learning and deep learning with generative AI focus
Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
Strong background in Prompt Engineering, agentic AI/AI Agents, API/MCPs for large-scale banking automations
Experience with NLP and NLG
Proven track record building and deploying generative models in production using RAG frameworks
Solid understanding of ML algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles
Strong understanding of Model Risk Management and Fair Lending guidelines for LLM solutions
Master's/Bachelor's/PhD in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
