About the Role
Optum India is hiring an AI or ML Engineer to design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI solutions with a focus on Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI workflow automation, and intelligent application development.

What you'll do
- Design, develop, and deploy Agentic AI solutions using LLMs and orchestration workflows
- Build and maintain RAG-based applications with embeddings and document ingestion pipelines
- Develop AI-powered workflow automation for operational efficiency
- Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications and microservices
- Build scalable backend services using Java/Spring Boot and/or Python
- Implement observability and monitoring for AI workflow performance and model behavior
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable AI-powered solutions
- Ensure solutions follow responsible AI and compliance requirements
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or equivalent
- 5+ years overall software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience building AI/ML, GenAI, or LLM-based applications
- Solid experience with Agentic AI — tool calling, planning, memory, multi-agent workflows

Required
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or equivalent
5+ years overall software engineering experience
Hands-on experience building AI/ML, GenAI, or LLM-based applications
Solid experience with Agentic AI — tool calling, planning, memory, multi-agent workflows
Practical experience with RAG architecture — embeddings, chunking, retrieval, re-ranking
Experience with Spring AI, LangChain, and LangGraph
Experience integrating LLMs — OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock
Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices
