About the Role
Johnson Controls International is accelerating digital transformation across products, operations, and customer experiences through scalable AI solutions powered by large language models. The Data Science and Analytics team is hiring an AI Engineer in Pune to lead LLM development, enterprise search, conversational AI, and MLOps deployment.
This is a senior, impact-driven role for data scientists ready to shape generative AI strategy and mentor teams.
What you'll do
- Lead development and deployment of scalable AI solutions powered by LLMs
- Accelerate digital transformation across products, operations, and customer experiences
- Shape data science strategy and mentor data science team members
- Design and implement advanced machine learning models
- Develop enterprise search, document summarization, conversational AI, and knowledge retrieval use cases
- Integrate LLM-powered applications into scalable, secure, and reliable pipelines
- Contribute to RAG architectures using vector databases
- Support deployment using MLOps principles
- Partner with stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and lead PoCs
- Translate complex model outputs into clear insights and decision support tools
- Evaluate LLM performance, latency, cost-effectiveness, and hallucination mitigation
What we're looking for
- Education in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline
- 5+ years hands-on data science experience
- 1-2 years working with LLMs or generative AI technologies
- Demonstrated success deploying ML and NLP solutions at scale
